The Bachelor Fashion and Style Guide

Of all the shows I love to watch, I'd have to say I love the Bachelor more than anything else.

I'm not a hopeless romantic, but there's something about watching a regular, 20-something girl fall in love (albeit possibly with the idea of getting famous) that sucks me in. 

For the past 13 seasons I have never missed an episode (save for a couple during the Charlie O'Connell season.) 

Part of the allure of the fashion from the Bachelor is that these women are relateable. Sure they're beautiful and thin, but most of them are just regular women you could know, or work with. They have budgets and limitations, and seeing how they adapt to life on the small screen - and their fashion choices - is one of the greatest influences on Possessionista.

The first time I noticed Bachelor fashion was during Jason Mesnick's season. When Jillian Harris wore a Forever21 colorblock dress. I took note of Jillian's army green, tiered rain jacket which would eventually lead me to counting Jillian as a dear friend - and the introduction to Aritzia. One of my favorite retailers for a little fashion therapy. 

When the bachelorettes are chosen for the Bachelor, they receive a shopping list which includes how many dresses they'll need for the rose ceremony, casual clothes, date outfits, shoes and accessories. The way the women interpret these lists is why Bachelor style is so interesting.

Michelle Money, Emily Maynard, Gia Allemand and Ashley Spivey have all admitted that keeping to their packing lists was a daunting task. Michelle Money included and entire suitcase of jewelry that was almost stopped at customs.

Michelle Money is one of the Bachelor's most notorious and fashionable contestants and a great example of memorable Bachelor fashion. She mixed high end dresses like an animal print gown from Dereon with print tanks and bandage skirts from Forever21. Michelle Money is often lauded for her incredible, wavy hair and makeup. And most people remember Michelle Money's statement necklaces including a rope necklace from Express, a turquoise teardrop necklace from Max & Chloe and a monogrammed pendent by Jennifer Zeuner. Money also wore  giant earrings in gold and silver that were searched for throughout her season of the Bachelor with Brad Womack.

During that same season, America met Emily Maynard. The blonde beauty is compared to Barbie, but America fell in love with the Southern Belle's charm, as well as her collection of Christian Louboutin sandals. Never one to scoff at fashion, Maynard also wore Steve Madden sandals and a pair of knee high boots from Target. Emily Maynard wore bandage dresses by Herve Legere as well as Forever21 and appeared later on TV in a lace skirt and blouse by Haute Hippie. Viewers also coveted her floral bikini from Target. Maynard's Bachelor style continues to make headlines and every time she is featured in the media, former fans flock to recreate Emily Maynard's Bachelor fashion.

Gia Allemand is, perhaps, the most fashionable bachelorette of all time. Her limited edition Hermes scarf, collection of Manolo Blahnik sandals, braided neck sweatshirt from Urban Outfitters and bandage dresses from Herve Legere proved to be the most high fashion contestant in the history of the Bachelor. The new york model, who recently relocated to Florida, has a collection of trendy labels including Alexis Bittar, Radenroro, Marley and Alice + Olivia.
