I think besides the Bachelorette, I’m most excited about Mistresses. (I love Alyssa Milano. Yo Angela.) And, yes, I know there’s some controversy regarding glamorizing the “other woman,” but really wouldn’t it be hypocritical of me to jump on board?

I mean, my favorite show’s premise is about a guy who cheats on all 25 of his girlfriends at the same time.

So really, who am I to judge?

Infidelity isn’t the only thing Mistresses has in common with my beloved Bachelor franchise. Actress Jes Macallan wears jewelry by designer Robyn Rhodes for several promo pictures – the LA jewelry designer is a favorite of Bachelorettes Ashley Hebert, Emily Maynard and Des Armstrong.

So it’s pretty fair to say, she won’t be judging either.

You know how before football season, the players go to camp and run drills and play mini games and real football fans get ultra excited about it and everyone else is sort of oblivious to what’s going on?

That’s what this week is like for me.

While everyone else is eagerly awaiting the Bachelor premiere on May 27, I’m scouring the Internet for glimpses of Des Hartsock, finding out what she’ll be wearing on the Bachelorette, and basically forming an opinion on how the entire season will play out and if Des ultimately will be a winner.

Last night, Jimmy Kimmel grilled Des about her final pick and whether they’re still together. And while Des stayed mum, the one thing I garnered from her appearance on the late night show is that Team Des has definitely upgraded her uniform this season.

I’m trying really hard to stay away from Bachelorette spoilers. As much as I want to know who’s there for the right reasons (and by right reasons I mean giving me fodder to make fun of them on Twitter) I also want to be surprised.

But one thing I couldn’t avoid was the leaked music video that Des and her suitors made on a group date – that’s gone viral faster than the hot tub at the Bachelor Pad.

Besides the ghost in Three Men and a Baby, there are no accidents when it comes to entertainment. (Okay, there totally are, but bear with me on this one. Also, is it bear? Or bare? Thanks for the degree in English, Indiana University.)

With so much yellow on the pilot of Goodwin Games, I knew there had to be a story behind it. For those of you who missed it, the Goodwin Games is the story of three estranged siblings who reunite after the death of their well-meaning, but notably flawed father. As his last wish, he’s devised a series of competitions – the winner receiving a mysterious 28-million dollar inheritance (not to mention some closure with dear old dad, and a renewed relaysh with brother and sister dearest.)

It’s kind of like The Hunger Games meets My Name is Earl.

Throughout the pilot, Becki Newton wears a series of Goodwin Games outfits in sunny yellow, and while I knew Barney Stinson’s ex looks fab in the color, there had to be more of a story. Turns out, when the producers created the show, they decided that each character would have a “team color” – Chloe (Becki Newton in yellow, natch) Scott Foley in red (presumably for cheating on Felicity with Keri Washington, man I watch too much TV) and TJ Miller in blue. Dad Beau Bridges in neutral tones plays the objective host.

May the odds be ever in their favor.

You know, brides can be a real pain in the ass.

Between their chocolate fountains and their confusing wedding attire jargon, it’s hard to know if you come to their nuptuals in black tie.

Or hazmat suit.

Now that it’s summer, I know you guys have loads of weddings to attend – but it’s a pain in the ass (and the wallet) to have to buy a dress for every occasion. Today I got to go on WGN to talk about why I love Rent the Runway. It’s an ingenious website that lets you borrow the same dresses you see at high end stores and on celebrities for four (or eight) days for a tenth of the retail price.

There are so many cool things (like you pay $5 insurance and you don’t have to worry about spills or tears) free shipping and they’ll even include a second size if you’re in-between sizes to make sure the dress fits.

I am fiercely loyal to my left coast housewives. Frankly I’d rather watch Kyle Richards flip her hair, than Teresa Giudice flip a table any day. (Especially Monday, though.)

But the new trailer for the Real Housewives of New Jersey has me totally confused. Juicy Joe’s doing trustfalls, Melania is on the pole and Melissa’s letting it rain. Forget about sober Kim and Yolanda’s cleanses. I’m pretty sure RHONJ is going to be fabulicious.

All season long, we’ve lusted over Kerry Washington’s Scandal wardrobe. Her closet reads like a veritable who’s who of  couture designers. Luxe fabrics, in tranquil shades all made for an enviable collection that anyone would look good in, if only we could actually find them at our local department store.

But the last few moments of Scandal held not one, but two surprises.

The first? The appearance of Olivia’s dear old dad – a storyline I’m excited to explore.

And second? Finally a piece of clothing from Scandal that you can get at the mall.

I say that without an ounce of condescension.

I am fortunate. I have a beautiful home and a healthy family. I have access to the clean water, great medical care. I have freedom to speak. To do.

To be.

And I’m writing this from 30,000 feet.

Like I said, I’m fortunate.

And sometimes I forget that. I think we all do.

But a few years ago, I stumbled upon a little company that kind of turned me on my head. If you’ve been reading Possessionista for a while, you know already about livefashionABLE – a not-for-profit that rehabilitates African women, teaches them to make scarves, names the scarves after them (along with their inspirational stories) and then uses the proceeds to rehabilitate more women.

My drawers spill over with fashionABLE scarves – I give them as gifts to friends and family, because I believe so thoroughly and so passionately about what they are doing. (And, as an aside, I also really love their scarves.)

A few weeks about Barrett Ward, the founder of fashionABLE sent me an email asking if I wanted to go to Ethiopia. “Ha ha” I replied, sure he was kidding.

He wasn’t.

Today, I’m overjoyed to tell you that 9 bloggers and I are going to Ethiopia in August to meet with the women behind fashionABLE. Over the next three months, in addition to our usual vapid Possessionista TV fashion, I’ll be chronicling my trip.

I know it’s a little off topic, but I think all of us can use a reminder once in a while about how fortunate we are.

And so we bid adieu to 90210 with the lamest series finale of all time.

90210 had such an opportunity to really go out with a bang. Wtih a Dawson’s Creek type finale. Or a One Tree Hill finale. But, in classic 90210 fashion, everyone was fine and a little boring.

I mean, I don’t mean to be morbid, but are we really supposed to accept that Silver’s just gonna be fine. And Naomi found her happily ever after with a guy she met two episodes ago?

AND STILL NO MENTION THAT ANNIE MURDERED A HOBO.
