It’s extraordinary, really.
To talk about privilege, or fortune, or blessings would not do justice to my time here in Ethiopia. There is nothing that I can say to articulate the strength, courage, grace and beauty of the women of Ethiopia. In my short time here, I have learned about sisterhood, tenacity, faith, and, perhaps the most unexpected:
I find myself in tears almost hourly; it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. To be welcomed into the lives of these women who have endured challenges that, frankly, are unfathomable to me, only to emerge filled with love and joy is something I couldn’t have even begun to imagine.
I wanted to share a few pictures of the beautiful women and children I have met in my visit to Addis – people who greeted me with nothing but kindness, acceptance, and hope.
I hope you’ll enjoy the pictures. As you know, I have passionately supported liveFashionable, and the work they are doing to fund the rehabilitation of these women through Women at Risk and create sustainable working opportunities for these heroes.
I hope you’ll share their work with your friends and loved ones.
