Besides the ghost in Three Men and a Baby, there are no accidents when it comes to entertainment. (Okay, there totally are, but bear with me on this one. Also, is it bear? Or bare? Thanks for the degree in English, Indiana University.)

With so much yellow on the pilot of Goodwin Games, I knew there had to be a story behind it. For those of you who missed it, the Goodwin Games is the story of three estranged siblings who reunite after the death of their well-meaning, but notably flawed father. As his last wish, he’s devised a series of competitions – the winner receiving a mysterious 28-million dollar inheritance (not to mention some closure with dear old dad, and a renewed relaysh with brother and sister dearest.)

It’s kind of like The Hunger Games meets My Name is Earl.

Throughout the pilot, Becki Newton wears a series of Goodwin Games outfits in sunny yellow, and while I knew Barney Stinson’s ex looks fab in the color, there had to be more of a story. Turns out, when the producers created the show, they decided that each character would have a “team color” – Chloe (Becki Newton in yellow, natch) Scott Foley in red (presumably for cheating on Felicity with Keri Washington, man I watch too much TV) and TJ Miller in blue. Dad Beau Bridges in neutral tones plays the objective host.

May the odds be ever in their favor.

Thanks for posting, I wasn’t sure if you would watch this one.

I think I will check it out again next week. Unfortunately, there are only 7 episodes in total so don’t get too invested. It’s more like a summer fling.

I did a recap on the first episode and linked back to you for the fashion update. I was wondering why she wore so much yellow:

Lol….seriously, I did, at Scott Foley cheating on Felicity!!! I have been a SF fan since the Felicity days & Becki Newton since Ugly Betty, so of course I watched Goodwin Games. I hope it makes it, if not for Becki’s fashion, but for Scott who only seems to be getting dreamier as he gets older!
