A few weeks ago, someone left a comment saying that I should focus on less “teeny bopper” fashion and more on sophisticated style.
Which, if I’m being honest, I kind of resented. Sure I love 90210 and my Pretty Little Liars like they’re my own, but I think I give fair time to Olivia Pope’s Scandal style, Emily Thorne of Revenge and Cougar Town fashion which really encompass style for the 30-something set.
The thing I love about Cougar Town isn’t just it’s style, but also that I really identify with the characters. This week’s Cougar Town reminded me, just how familiar each character is. Whether it’s the part of me that’s like Laurie, watching Cupcake reality shows, Jules’ insomnia, or Ellie taking her husband for granted, Cougar Town doesn’t just remind me of my own personal style.
It reminds me of myself.
Which is probably why I love it so much.
