Like every woman who has ever stood in the chorus of her high school musical, or lived in a city in her single 20′s I love me some Sarah Jessica Parker. I would gladly go to the ends of the world for a Cosmopolitan and a pair of Jimmy Choos, thanks to SJP. And I will cut a bitch who says Girls Just Wanna Have Fun wasn’t the best movie ever made.
Period. (Don’t even say it. You’ve been warned.)
But I’m onto you, Glee. Bringing on Sarah Jessica Parker just to get your middle aged viewers back might be calculated and manipulative. It’s an obvious PR stunt meant to drum up viewers and win back some of the former Gleeks who left right around the time you put Golden Girl Quinn Fabray in a wheelchair, and let those kids from the Glee Project take over McKinley High.
And it’s working.
Well played, producers of Glee.
Want to win back your core demographic? (Okay, I’m talking about myself, actually. I’m not sure who your core demographic is, and I’ve done no reasearch on the topic, whatsoever.)
Forget about Rachel Berry. Forget about Marley Rose. Forget about Emma and Mr. Schuester and Sue Sylvester. What I really wanna see is a spin off Glee fashion show where Sarah Jessica Parker and Kurt go around the country ambushing women to do makeovers set to a musical montage of contemporary songs and Broadway showstoppers.
I’ll gladly shoot the sizzle real for them.
