In real life, I’ve never met anyone named Quinn. But in TV life, it seems like everyone with perfectly touseled hair has the moniker.  (See also: One Tree Hill, Glee, Dr. Quinn, Medicine woman)

In TV, name your daughter Quinn and suddenly she’s the alpha girl. She’s the captain of the cheerleaders. The thriving photographer. The horseback riding inenue who can cure scarlett fever and typhoid with a paperclip and course salt.

And if your name is Quinn, it means you’re destined for greatness when it comes to love. Sure, your significant other might get you pregnant in high school, unconsciously suppress the memory of his son, or have a goofy name like Sully and hair like Fabio.

But the imporant thing is, you will always have perfect hair.

As Quinn Garvey, Barney’s love interest on How I Met Your Mother, Becki Newton perpetuates the Quinn stereotype with her perfect just rolled out of bed hair, ability to score a super hot boyfriend and her enviable How I Met Your Mother fashion

To be fair, I’m hoping you guys aren’t huge, like fanfic level fans of Dr. Quinn medicine woman, because if you are then this metaphor is totally blown.
