When you’re embroiled in a scandal of epic proportions (think Prince Harry or Emily Maynard) the first thing your publicist does is encourage you to seem relatable.
We’re all human. We all mistakes. And sometimes we forget to take away a camera phone from a drunk Vegas girl we met in the pool or speak softly in the presence of an overzealous sibling with an axe to grind.
And what’s more relatable than a girl, in love with a boy, wearing a shirt from Urban Outfitters that she bought on sale?
I’d believe it.

Finally Emily wears something affordable. Thanks Dana!!!!
those are ugly shoes and she looks like she is about to fall over in them
Dana,
You are fabulous and so talented. Thank you for the continued Emily Maynard posts, I love reading your blog every morning!
I can't stand the negative comments between women. Emily is a beautiful, smart, classy, well educated young woman and she always looks fantastic-frankly it's nobodys business how she affords anything that she is entitled to. Love this outfit!!
Mairead do you belive simply bbeacuse we are women we aren't entitled to oppinions or to disaggree?
What a ridiculous question!
And learn to spell
Mairead didnt you just say you can't stand when women say nasty things to each other. what a hypocrite.
I haven't said anything nasty!
Telling someone to learn to spell is just as rude as saying someone's shoes are ugly.
Wow. You people need to seriously take a chill pill and calm down. This is suppose to be a fun, easy-going, fashion-obsessive blog. Feminista, calm down. Seriously. Mairead never said it was wrong to disagree, but for someone to go out of their way to post a comment and say “those shoes are ugly and she looks like she's about to fall over them” is pretty unnecessary to say. If you don't like it, no need to comment and go BEYOND your opinion about the shoe saying ohhh she looks like she's going to fall in them. What's the point of even saying that? It's absolutely pointless. Then for you to tell her to learn how to spell? Was that even necessary? Girls can be so evil sometimes.
Mairead is the one who said learn to spell.
Um…I like the outfit. Hot pink flats would look cute.
What happens if I'm starting to think her man is the real fashion icon? Dreaming of ways to talk my husband into wearing some of Jeff's clothes…
And P.S., let's get real people… It's not Emily's clothes, but her figure! That's why she looks good in everything. And she does.

everyone is entitled to say what they want without being attacked! Mairead was nasty btw- saying someone's question was ridicuous and then telling them to learn to spell! Hyprocrite is right!
There is not a nasty bone in my body-I simply dislike all the attacking on this poor girl already. I mean isn't her life crazy enough without having to be attacked further? I said the question was ridiculous because of course people are entitled to their opinions, they should just keep the nasty ones to themselves. And the spelling thing is a pet peeve-forgive me. Now everyone enjoy their weekend! Enough bad stuff in the World-don't ya agree?
Um, this is a FASHION blog – you are allowed to critique someone's outfit. Yes, I agree that saying “why does she have so much money, etc” is unnecessary and unrelated to the content of the blog, but to say that there is so much going on her life is a reason that we shouldn't be able to comment on her clothes is crazy. She choose to be the Bachelorette and had to be aware of the tabloid craziness that comes with it.
On a more relevant note, I am not crazy about this outfit, but I do like when EM mixes high couture with clothes that us normal folk can afford. I love her necklace. Those shoes are NOT working though, haha.

that bag is absolutely gorgeous. as much as i dont want it, i think we all should stop looking at maynards fashion now. i dont know about u guys but i just love everything she wears but simply cannot afford most of it and it makes me feel like the clothes that i do have are bad now lol… i need to detox from her and start appreciating what i do have!
This is not an attractive outfit anyway you slice it. Poured into jeans on a pair of mega stilts is about as ridiculous as applauding Emily's HS diploma with a parallel pregnancy as a well-educated lady. A good figure doesn't require nook and cranny substantiation. We can visualize everything from her boob job to hair extensions, veneers and her svelte frame without the skin tight denim, ho hum tees and 7inch heels.
