It’s probably (hopefully) that the proximity of the Fourth of July is what’s inspiring Young Hollywood in their recent influx of American Flag inspired garb.
First it was Katy Perry in a flag weater. Then a few weeks later it was Cat Deeley on “So You Think You Can Dance” and now Carrie Underwood was spotted in this American Flag tank at the Country Music something or other. (You know I don’t follow country.)
And I’ll admit, Carrie does look kinda cute, but American flag clothes are like Christmas lights.
You get a week after the holiday to take them down before I start to judge you.
Okay, you’re right. I’m already judging you.
Especially if you’re in sequin denim Daisy Dukes.

American Flags are NOT only about the WEEK of the 4th, they are about PRIDE of your country and being HONORED to live FREE thanks to SO MANY who fight for us (like my husband) or who have fought for us! I'd wear the American flag ANY day… ANY time… ANY place.i was raised a Patriot by my parents and continue to be as an adult! I'm THANKFUL!

That's an interesting perspective Jen, since the argument is often that the American flag is not to be worn as a fashion statement – particularly these shirts that depict distressed American flags as disrespecful.

To each their own about that. I see nothing distasteful about this shirt. I see nothing distasteful about Olympians draping the flag around them during ceremonies… THOSE,my friend, are UPTIGHT PEOPLE!” disrespect to the flag would be allowing it to touch the ground, flying a frayed or ripped up one. As long as its tasteful and shows no disrespect I'd wear it. As SO MANY others would.

Well, let me ask you, have you ever shipped your husband off not knowing if it would be the last time you would see him, ever put your crying children to bed because they miss daddy so bad, but he can't even call home because he is busy fighting a WAR to keep that flag free? There is NOTHING Cheesy about my American Flag and I would wear it PROUDLY and on anything I could so I could show no matter how CHEESY that chick staring at me THINKS it is, it goes much DEEPER then a garment for me.. Will continue to wear it with Pride and appreciate those who are actually THANKFUL for children giving up their daddy's (mommy's etc) to keep it free so I can wear it. Enough said..

im so tired of military wives who think their superior because their husbands are in the military. flag shirts are cheesy and its not an affront to your husband's fight overseas to say that wearing a flag is tacky. i bet if you asked what they were fighting for the freedom to wear overpriced americana isn't at the forefront of their efforts.
