I attended a luncheon yesterday with an author and several very intelligent guests, and we discussed various book-related topics.
When we got to the topic of “guilty pleasures,” the author confided that she loved The Thorn Birds – explaining the plot as a story of a priest who has an affair with a woman who turns out to have a lot of money.
“Oh my God,” I burst out. “That’s what happened on 90210 last night.”
*crickets*
Note to self.
