A few days ago, it was brought to my attention that my “about me” section was offputting to a particular brand who’d previously been interested in meeting with me. My complacency for recycling and penchant for movies about eating disorders didn’t mesh with their brand image.
And I’ll admit for more than a few minutes I entertained the idea of going full Billy, and putting my hair in a conservative topknot and playing the humble fahsion blogger.
But the truth is, changing my voice (or my hair) for anyone else would be as authentic as Billy in a polished coif and Lacoste golf shirt.
So I thought to myself, “WWJD?” (what would Jane do?) And in true Jane by Design fashion I left my bio as is.
And I rewarded myself with a marathon of “Starving Secrets” on Lifetime.
