Despite my sometimes self-deprecating humor, I’m usually okay with the fact that I’m not a size 2. I exercise. I’m active. I enjoy a good bag of cheetoes.
But every year around this time, I start to sink into a stuffing-laden depression. Knowing that January 1, I’ll get back on the wagon – or at the very least the elliptical – I just roll through the final weeks of the year. Pun intended.
And in the meantime, it’s nice to know even people like Jillian Harris with perfect Bachelor fashion occasionally resort to comfy, and concealing, clothing.
I love camouflag-y pieces like Jillian Harris’ pink zip up hoodie cape, that conceals the rolls from all those rolls you’ve been consuming, without making you look like a stuffed turkey. Pun intended.
The secret to the cape – or any oversized concealing clothing – is fit. So fight the urge to go tentlike and find one that drapes closer to your figure. Let it graze your curves, and pair it with fitted jeans, to emphasize the parts of your body that have not yet gone into cookie overload.
And take solace in knowing this is a great piece to throw on with your gym clothes, come the first of the year.
