I'm fascinated by the mommy counter-culture.
There's a virtual universe of resources just for "cool" moms. Beauty products, fashion tips, all promising to make you cool, in spite of your broader hips and stretchmarks.
Call me crazy but who needs it? The coolest moms I know don't wear different jeans, or different shoes or even different cosmetics than they did before they were moms. And neither do the coolest celebrity moms. Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie haven't changed their style all that much since bearing Hollywood's next generation.
And neither should yours.
