Emmy Fashion: From Night to Day

I love awards fashion.

Notsomuch because of the celebrities who are wearing them (though I do) but because, to me, it's the ultimate showdown between some of the best stylists in the world. You see, these celebrities aren't picking anything they wear. From their dress to their shoes to their jewelry to their undergarments, every single detail has been decided by their stylists.

And while I'll never have a reason to wear a Marchesa dress or million dollar Jacob & Co. earrings, I like to watch the award show fashions to see what the stylists are picking - it's like the cliffs notes for the hottest trends - and then incorporate those details into my daily wardrobe.

Some of the hottest looks included navy blue ruffles, neutral sequins, rosettes, and bright color.

Here I chose my favorite Emmy looks, and found an inspired item that's both wearable and affordable.

Ensuring that you look good on any carpet, be it red or berber.

Silence & Noise Art Deco Sequin Tank, $28.00, Urban Outfitters
Wear it with jean shorts and a fringe boot during the day or skinny jeans and a motorcycle boot for a hot Saturday night date

navy ruffles
Throw a colorful cardigan and trouser jeans for a daytime look, or tuck into a light colored pant for a work look

bright color
BDG pull on legging, $29.00, Urban Outfitters
sure, it caused plenty of contro, but this electric blue dress screams "look at me" which is why I gravitate towards bright blue denim leggings, that spice up an otherwise typical black or white tunic

rosettes
rosette tank, $16.99, Loft
Both Eva and Heidi used rosettes to spruce up an otherwise boring black dress. Take a cue from the housewife and the hot mom, and try this rosette embellished tank from the Loft, which will look equally cute with a full skirt and moto boots, or paired with boyfriend jeans and ankle booties.
