Week 1: The Short Stack at the Bachelor Pad (via ABC)

Alright, so I have been roped into watching Bachelor Pad for my pal the Possessionista to recap the best and worst dressed guys through the season!! And I’m thrilled to be writing next to Molly Mesnick who has an eye on the ladies fashion for the show too!
But, Week One was actually a huge disappointment for me in menswear…I felt like I had literally jumped back years to college—where a guy’s attire is based on if they can sleep comfortably through class.
OK…ouch!
I am hoping to see these men step it up a notch in the next few episodes. At least wear a (tailored) suit to the rose ceremony (Jesse K looked like an even sloppier Jim from The Office)…and it’s ok to stray from t-shirt and jeans every once and a while, Wes.
But there were a few redeeming moments:
Craig M came in with a pop of color and topped off with a fedora. Even if he is a jerk with ridiculous hair, he’s good a Twister and does the casual beach thing real well.
Jesse K gets gold stars for best grooming—that perfectly balanced not-stubble-but-not-beard look is the sign of a man who takes care of himself. Those abs aren’t bad either…
Kiptyn actually wore a decent military jacket as a second layer above everyone else—a step up from the t-shirt and jeans look—to make a nice first impression.
