The Bachelor Pad Fashion - Molly Mesnick's Fashion Recap - Episode #2

By Molly Mesnick

After recovering from last week's psych ward visit, also known as The Bachelor Pad, I knew there was no way I could get through another episode without channeling my inner Ramona Singer and sucking down a few too many glasses of Safeway’s finest Pinot Grigio.

Did I see a hot pink tutu? Or was that just the wine?

Let’s start with the newest Bachelor Pad uniform: the sports bra.  While I understand that a pie eating contest would cause anyone to get messy, exposing my stomach is the last thing I'd want to do while inhaling an entire pie.  What I would have done, however, was wiped the pie from my face before giving an interview.  Ladies, this is national television, not the county fair.

While the rest of the episode was pretty ordinary - pool time, plotting, and the girls’ finest sweat pants - one thing that was out of the ordinary was the Weatherman fulfilling his dream to date three girls at a time.  Though I’m not sure he is Gwen’s type, she certainly stepped up her fashion game for this date.  Maybe she thought yellow would remind the Weatherman of a perfectly sunny day?  100% chance of getting a rose.   I loved her one shoulder dress, so Dana, we need an ID…stat!

And then, of course, we have the most dramatic rose ceremony fashion choices.

Though I was taken aback initially by Chris Harrison's “out of the box” shirt/tie combo, I think he totally rocked it!  It’s good to see the real “man of the hour” stealing the fashion spotlight for once!

And speaking of stealing the fashion spotlight, I am sure the average viewer responded to Natalie's hot pink tutu with three little letters: W. T. H.?

As a dear friend, I know if anyone can pull that off, it’s Natalie.  Come on folks, we’re talking about the girl who said, “I’d make out with anyone for $20, let alone $250,000!”  Natalie, you are the reason I can continue to tune in to this show every week, and not rip my eyelashes out one by one.  Keep on pushing the envelope girlfriend!

Looking forward to seeing more fashion “risks” next week!

I noticed Chris' tie/shirt combo and I didn't like it though, too mismatching. I agree with the rest of the post though!! Pink tutu... ? Too cutsey for an adult. And I agree that ABC should have made them clean themselves up after the pie-eating contest before doing interviews! Thanks for the blog, Molly.

Molly, you are hilarious! I definitely gave that tutu at BIG WTH. And I agree with you all the way about the pie-eating in sports bras and giving interviews with pie filling all over my face... dis-gus-ting. LOL at the county fair comment.

What about Gia's beautiful feather tank she wore on her date?
Does anyone know where she bought it?
Thanks!
